1. What we store
Registered accounts store your email address, a hashed password and optional company and role fields. The service stores the rate sheets, quotes, audit inputs and audit results you create so the product can work for you. Anonymous trial runs store the rate sheet you paste, keyed only to a hashed IP, so the 5 free runs cannot be reset by clearing cookies.
2. How data is used
Data is used only to provide and improve the service: calculate quotes, compare rates, run audits and keep your history available. We do not sell data, run ads or use your data for marketing.
3. Sharing
Your data is shared only with the hosting and database providers required to run the site, and only when you deliberately create a public share link for a quote. Anyone who receives that link can view that one quote; they cannot see your rate sheet or other data.
Site analytics
FreightQuoter uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and visitors in aggregate so we can see which pages people actually use. It is not used for advertising and does not create marketing profiles.
4. Retention and deletion
You can delete your account, rate sheets, quotes and audits at any time from the dashboard ("Delete my data"). Deletion is immediate; copies in provider backups may take up to 30 days to be overwritten. Anonymous trial data is not linked to a named account and is deleted when a cleanup job removes stale trial records.
5. Security
Connections are encrypted, passwords are stored only as salted hashes and all state-changing forms are CSRF-protected. No security measure is perfect, so treat uploaded rates as commercially sensitive and avoid using obviously shared passwords.
6. Your choices
You may choose not to provide optional fields, export your own data from the pages provided, and delete your data at any time.
